§From the developer — why Volo exists
I built Volo because I wanted one place to follow the news I care about from sources I trust — U.S. politics, world politics/geopolitics, and crypto, from outlets across the spectrum — without bouncing between a dozen apps. Just today's biggest stories, and when you're done, you're done.
Quick tour: the home feed has the top stories, ranked by how many outlets are covering each one and grouped by topic. Savedholds articles you've bookmarked for later. The talking happens on r/VoloNews — hit Discuss on any story to start or join a thread there. Sign in with Google to save.
The tag next to a source nameis a rough left–right classification, in line with how outlets are commonly rated by independent media-bias trackers like AllSides and Ad Fontes Media — not my own editorial judgment. It's a general guide, not a precise science: left-leaning sources are tagged LEFT or LEAN L, center sources CTR, and right-leaning sources LEAN R or RIGHT. Some sources — crypto outlets, or outlets covering their own country's domestic politics rather than U.S.-style partisan politics — have no tag at all, since forcing a label on them would be more misleading than useful.
This is a work in progress, and you're some of the first people using it. If something's broken, confusing, or missing, say so over on r/VoloNews. That's the most helpful thing you can do right now.
Thanks for being here.
